In the ancient Roman Republic a Censor was a high ranking magistrate. This position (called censura) was responsible for maintaining the census and supervising the public morality.
For the purpose of keeping the HostCensus clean and useful, we review every single post before it is published on the web site. This operation is conducted by our Censor. If you ever find something offensive, incorrect or purely irrelevant on our site, you can report it to the Censor. With the ability to report abuse, we are aiming to provide anyone with moderation power, so that we are all sure that the information posted on this web site is useful.
The Censor is also burdened with voicing our opinion. The Censor acts as a moderator, editor and contact person. In some cases you may see posts submitted by the Censor. Such will be made whenever our team has to make some special remarks on a ceratin material.
